Prince's Trust
The Prince's Trust is an organisation that
helps young people fulfil their potential. They work with 16 to 25
year olds who face disadvantage - offering them the support, encouragement
and basic financial assistance they need to achieve their goals.
Through a variety of programmes across the UK, the Prince's Trust
removes young people's barriers to success, helping them use their
own vitality to power into life.
 Hydroactive
works alongside the Prince's Trust and team leaders in providing
a week long residential team build for 16 - 25 year olds. Hydroactive
has been involved with Princes Trust for 10 years now and has developed
the program by using outdoor activities and various classroom and
practical sessions to develop groups of youngsters into a team and
set them up ready for their 12 week program. This residential week
has also been used partly or wholly for 6th form students in helping
them get to know each other and experience new and exciting challenges.
Currently Hydroactive is working at Drum Hill Scout Camp, an excellent Derby
based residential centre with indoor and outdoor facilities including a low ropes
course and abseil tower. We are working with groups from Derby, Birmingham, Norfolk,
Norwich and Kings Lynn. Below are some of the testimonials to the success of

for all your help with our Leicester residential at drum hill.
This residential, although stressful for me at times (as you well
understand!) has been the best residential that I have been on.
Steve and Gemma! these guys were a pleasure
to work alongside. Their professionalism and knowledge of the tasks
and activities were outstanding. They devoted so much time and
energy into the volunteers to produce maximum benefit to the team.
They discussed each day with us (team leaders) to produce day plans
to suit the needs of the team. They were there for both myself
and Jane to offer advice and assist when the team were 'discussing'
their problems. Please pass on both Jane and myself's personal
thanks to Steve and Gemma because we really did appreciate their
help and devotion!

New Deal Government
Initiative
 New
Deal is a key part of the Government's strategy to get people back
to work. It gives people on benefits the help and support they need
to look for work, including training and job preparation.
Hydroactive works with various providers in
Derby, Leicester, Loughborough, Hinckley, Ilkeston to provide four
days of teambuilding and adventurous activities as part of the Governments
two week New Deal program.
On the afternoon of the first day Hydroactive
provides a ice breaker session to energise the participants and also
get them talking and interacting, it is also an opportunity to explain
the next three outdoor sessions that will be run.
 Three
days are spent off site undertaking various team build activities
including swing bridge, stepping stones, skis, low ropes, abseil,
archery etc and on the final day after reviews those that have 'stayed
the course' will be rewarded with a session at an indoor karting
venue.
Using Hydroactive's centres there is access to many on site activities
with indoor and outdoor options available depending on the weather.
The program is flexible to allow for changes needed sue to group
and weather needs.
Many team leaders have commented how much
easier it is to work with the group after a day with Hydroactive
and that
it
gets the group
talking to each other and opening up.
 Using
mature trainers from all walks of life Hydroactive will encourage
individuals and teams but never pressurise.
